World Series Poker. There’s no more prestigious series dedicated to the honorable game of poker in the world than the World Series Poker. The best players in all the world of poker show up for this event, and battle it out for millions of dollars in prizes; unfortunately for many would-be contestants in this series, however, it’s not easy to get in. There are two paths available.
The first is the buy-in. Not including airfare or any hotel accommodations, a buy-in will run you $10,000. That’s a lot of money, and probably as much as many poker players would ever hope to win in their much smaller world of poker playing. Since this isn’t a viable avenue of approach for most players, where else should they turn?
The second is the way. Though this takes a great deal more time it will not only save you money in the long run it will help you get prepped for the competition, and let you know if you’re capable of playing against the biggest names in the world of poker at the World Series Poker tournament. This way is to play in countless Sit-N-Go tournaments online.
It’s not hard getting in on these tournaments. Just sign up to a participating site (be sure to pick one that’s actually affiliated with the tournament) and start joining in on Sit-N-Go tournaments. Work your way up through the ranks and battle it out with increasingly stronger opponents. There are usually seven tiers worth of players leading up to securing a ticket, so play your way through each one as best you can. As long as you finish in at least the top four each time you play you’ll be assured a continuation in that tier, and won’t be bumped back down to a lower on in the series. Get high enough on these tiers and you’ll be invited for free to the world tournament.
Just be sure when practicing for these Sit-N-Go’s that you always play for money. Your opponents will not play the same if you’re playing for free.
